The Karaoke theme for May 9th is “Go The Distance with Disney”
If you love Mulan, Hercules or The Lion King (just to name a few) then this is the
Karaoke Challenge for you.
Sing a song made famous by a Disney film for a chance to Win a YouNow Prize package!
The Karaoke challenge, a live weekly competition hosted by Cody-Ann Palmer, is live this Wednesday (and every Wednesday) May 2nd at 4pm EST on YouNow/karaoke (9pm in the UK).
Contestants log into Younow via Facebook and sing their hearts out, for the fun of it and the opportunity to win actual gifts and prizes.
If you just can’t wait for the Karaoke challenge, you can participate in the Extra Credit challenge presented by James Jones as well. This week, you can sing any song, HOWEVER at some point during the song, you MUST FREESTYLE A DANCE ROUTINE (min of 5 moves). Make your performance stand out, get costumes, make up, different lighting etc. Get creative!! The extra credit challenge will take place an hour before the scheduled karaoke time and the winner will receive 9,000 YouNow Coins. (Just enough to throw someone in jail)

What are the rules of Karaoke?
- For two hours, each broadcaster is allowed to sing 1 song per broadcast, however you can get back in the queue as often as possible.
Do I need to have background music?
- By definition, Karaoke songs have an instrumental backing track, having musical accompaniment is highly encouraged, however a cappella is also acceptable.

What if I get voted off before my song is over?
- Each broadcaster is guaranteed 2 mins, if you are voted off after the two minutes, get back in the queue and try again.
