Happy trails July and howdy August! At YouNow, ushering in a new month means one thing, NEW REWARDS! 

                 

HOW DO I EARN REWARDS?

In August we will reward you for recruiting new users. What exactly does that mean? Let me break it down for you.

We reward users that recruit new registered users to the YouNow community DURING THE MONTH OF August. The concept is easy - the more NEW users you refer to YouNow AND who BECOME YOUNOW MEMBERS the more rewards you get!

There are 2 ways to recruit new users:

      1.  While broadcasting: Any new user that comes to the site and registers during your broadcast is automatically credited to you as a recruit, whether you invited them or not! So the more you broadcast and spread the word, the more recruits you gain.

      2.  By sharing and inviting users: Every time you post a link using the “Share” button, (by tweeting, publishing a link to a YouNow broadcast or profile page via Facebook, etc.) it contains a unique reference to you as the originator of the link.  This unique URL gives you credit for every time a new user comes to the site and becomes a YouNow member through the link you’ve shared.

You will be able to view the number of new gained at any time in your “My Stats” page:

              

The number of recruits gained will also be displayed at the end of each broadcast.

                

And you can easily find out how many recruits you earned in between sessions in your inbox.

                                              

Additionally, the total number of recruits a user has gained will appear in the area below the video screen every 2 minutes.

Wondering how to make your broadcasts cooler and more engaging? Well one way to spice up your broadcast is with a cool outfit or costume. Things like hats, wigs, mask, capes and face paint are just a few of the things you can use to spice up your broadcast.

You may be wondering? Well how does this help my broadcast? Well it helps in that you will stand out from the crowd. People love to see costumes because it is different and shows you are not afraid to have fun. Also say you decide to dress up as Mario from the popular nintendo video games or as the super villain The Joker, People who know these characters will automatically want to talk to you and you have a topic already.

While costumes are not always needed for a broadcast they do spice them up. People love to see funny costumes and awesome outfits. So if you feel like you need to spice up your broadcast then get a mask or wig or hat and broadcast. A better idea would be to combine all three. The Are You Super? Show  took place in the Shows 2 channel on YouNow.com. Hosted by Donovan “The Prince” Santiago, the main challenge of Are You Super? was simple: be a superhero or villain. Contestants could create their own hero or villain or impersonate one that is already created.

So you think you can dance eh? Well then… PROVE IT on YouNow’s Dance Off hosted by Johnni Riddlin for a chance to win a YouNow prize package! The Dance Off will be this Saturday July 28th at 3pm EDT, 12pm PDT, 8pm BST on YouNow.com/Dance.

Dance Off Rules:

• Those competing in the Dance Off will have one hour to strut their stuff! 
• Whether you’re belly dancing or free styling, all dance styles are fair game. 
• Each broadcast is given a TWO MINUTES and is limited to one song, but feel free to jump back into the queue as often as possible.
• After one hour, the top three dancers will face off. Finalists are chosen based on skill, entertainment factor and originality.

If you haven’t heard of Dhalif Ali, LISTEN UP! Because he can tickle the guitar strings like a GOD!

Born and raised in Singapore, Dhalif started playing the guitar at the age of 9. Sneaking in mini jam sessions with his brother’s guitars. ”At that time, I didn’t know what I was doing”, said Dhalif. “I played lots of random notes and eventually started piecing these badly played sounds together that made up songs.”

For the first two years, Dhalif did not take playing guitar serious. It was until he saw Slash from Guns N’ Roses play November Rain when little Dhalif said to himself, “I NEED TO BE A GUITAR PLAYER”. The wow factor of Slash playing the shredding on top of the piano was enough to cement his life’s goal of being a guitar player. 

Dhalif has taken that childhood passion and turned into a life long carrier. He is currently working on his own music that is soon to be released. He is also working on building his social presents by uploading videos to his YouTube channel, Dhalif. When Dhalif is not recording, you can find him shredding the YouNow stage in the Musicians channel. 

You might not know, but…

Warren GreenApples aka Elliot Haen is 13 and lives in Antarctica. Elliot discovered YouNow through YouTuber Alex Constanico. Elliot Haen’s dream is to get bigger on YouTube. Elliot also enjoys playing soccer

Attention all artists, designers, and creative thinkers, can you capture the essence of YouNow in a single image? Now is the time to show us your skills.

We are asking YOU to design the next YouNow poster! Get inspired, sharpen your digital crayons, and create something that your grandmother would be proud of. The winning design will be printed and used as part of our Rewards program!

We are collaborating with LoadnVote.com, a cool website which is “striving to be the premier source for visual media competition on the Internet.” It will allow our community to vote on each other’s designs in a fun, competitive fashion.  

The deadline for submissions is August 12th, which will be followed by a 10 day voting period (8/13-8/23). During this voting period, you will be able to monitor the progress of your design, and those of your friends on a leaderboard on LoadnVote. The winner will be selected by YouNow (which will take into account the community’s thoughts) and announced shortly after.

Lisa Tomberg is 38 and from Scotland. Lisa discovered YouNow in January thanks to a twitter post by Alfie Pointlessblog. Lisa’s favorite part of YouNow is the reality school game show, even if she is not taking part it is still fun to watch and support her fellow community members. Lisa’s main goal in life is too make the people around her smile.
