HOW DO I EARN REWARDS?

In June we will reward you for recruiting new users. What exactly does that mean? Let me break it down for you.

We reward users that recruit new registered users to the YouNow community DURING THE MONTH OF JUNE. The concept is easy - the more NEW users you refer to YouNow AND who BECOME YOUNOW MEMBERS the more rewards you get!

There are 2 ways to recruit new users:

      1.  While broadcasting: Any new user that comes to the site and registers during your broadcast is automatically credited to you as a recruit, whether you invited them or not! So the more you broadcast and spread the word, the more recruits you gain.

      2.  By sharing and inviting users: Every time you post a link using the “Share” button, (by tweeting, publishing a link to a YouNow broadcast or profile page via Facebook, etc.) it contains a unique reference to you as the originator of the link.  This unique URL gives you credit for every time a new user comes to the site and becomes a YouNow member through the link you’ve shared.

You will be able to view the number of new recruits gained at any time in your “My Stats” page:

The number of recruits gained will also be displayed at the end of each broadcast.

And you can easily find out how many recruits you earned in between sessions in your inbox.

Additionally, the total number of recruits a user has gained will appear in the area below the video screen every 2 minutes.

It seems like the Justice League had some budget cuts…..

The first ever Are You Super? Show kicked off with a bang in the Shows 2 channel on YouNow.com. Hosted by Donovan “The Prince” Santiago, the main challenge of Are You Super? was simple: be a superhero or villain. Contestants could create their own hero or villain or impersonate one that is already created.

Contestants lined up in the queue where they showed off their powers, and explained how they would help or destroy people. After everything was said and done the 4 people with the highest broadcast score went to the finals. See the finalists below:

The four finalists had to argue and rant about why they were the best. In the end we crowned not one, but TWO winners: Tobias Lunghi and Allison Jeffrey, both earning a broadcast score of 83%.

Karaoke Challenge is live 2 days a week! Wednesday and Friday!

For extra credit, sing the theme song to your favorite TELEVISON SHOW

 Make your performance stand out, get costumes, make up, different lighting etc. Be Creative!!! The extra credit challenge will take place throughout BOTH show and will receive 500 YouNow Coins for participating in the challenge.  

The Karaoke challenge, a live weekly competition hosted by Cody-Ann Palmer, is live this Wednesday (and every Wednesday) May 30th at 4pm EST on YouNow/karaoke (9pm in the UK).  If one day of Karaoke is not enough, then you have another day Friday June 1st at (3pm in the US 8pm in the UK) Hosted by James Jones

Here are TappyBee’s Twelve YouNow Tips:

1) Always be prepared when coming on to broadcast. Whether you have a topic planned or you plan to sing a song. Make sure it is all prepared before hand so you can have a smooth broadcast!

2) Don’t rush people off to go live. Let everyone take the time they need to broadcast. 

3) Be considerate for the amount of people in the queue. If 50 people are waiting you don’t want to be on too long.

4) Be nice in the chat. If you tell people to vote down they will remember and may vote you down for that reason.

5) Don’t beg for fans. It’s ok to mention it once or twice but you should earn your fans and let them become a fan of you when they are ready.

6) Besides broadcasting you should interact in the chat and with the YouNow community. This way you can build friendships and they will vote you up when you come on.

7) Appreciate your fans and the gifts they give you. Thank them whenever you can. You should also mention them when they become fans. And when they ask you questions try your best to answer them.

8) Give people at least three minutes to see if they are interesting or not. Everyone should get a chance.

9) Don’t let the haters get you down. If you get voted down just keep coming back in the queue. Show them you will not give up.

10) Watch the site to see when haters are at their lowest and highest. Try to broadcast when a lot of your friends are on so this way you can stay on and have fun!

11) Be safe and if people ask for your phone number don’t give It to them. Also don’t give out your location and other personal information. You have to be as safe as possible.

12) And last but not least just be you, Don’t be fake because people can see through that.

If you just can’t wait for the Karaoke challenge, you can participate in the Extra Credit challenge presented by James Jones as well. This week, Sing a song that has been covered by the Glee Cast. Starting next Tuesday from 1-2PM EST (6-7:30PM GMT)  in the Shows 2 channel is a new show. The concept is simple. Have you ever wanted to be a superhero? Do you dream of one day being in The Avengers or maybe teaming up with Batman to fight crime? Or do you just want to run wild with The Joker and blow up cities like Loki? Well this is your chance! Starting next Tuesday you will get to prove it in our new show “Are You Super?”

You will have two minutes to show to us who your superhero or villain is and what they are about. You can dress up as Spider-man and Superman or make up your very own superhero or villain. Anything is possible!

The Super Rules:

• Be in character! You are not you anymore you are a Superhero or villain!
• Show us your powers and explain how you would help or destroy the world!
• Each person has a two minute limit but you can come in the queue and add more depth to your characters
• Prizes will include everything from a YouNow shirt to YouNow Hats
• The three people with the top score will go to the finals and will be forced to tell us why they are better than the other two!

Attention mobile YouNow broadcasters, YouNow is hosting the very first ALL MOBILE GAME SHOW! When we say all mobile, we mean ALL MOBILE! The show will be hosted using the app and ONLY mobile broadcasters will be allowed to participate in the show.

The Mobile Game Show will kick off May 15th at 4:00pm EDT 9:pm BST in Talk 2. If you already have the app installed GREAT! Those missing out on all the fun can find the link to the app here. Participants will have a chance to win level ups, coins, and one lucky person will walk away with a $100 iTunes gift card and become the first person who will gain access to our new app, that allows viewing, voting and chatting as well as broadcasting!
